Helping Your Teen Through The Transistional Stage





Children that are in the growing up phase often face a lot of problems. The problems are mainly related to talking and understanding the family and the peer group. The teens fail to understand the situations and the outcomes in most of the ideas placed by the parents. Hence, teen age is considered the most difficult phase in a person’s life. Children become extremely rebellious during this phase. The teens like proving out a point while they speak. And this is how; the rift between the parents and the teens is built. During this stage the children want to behave like the older ones and at the same time, want to prove their behavior and capabilities to the people around them. Parents must understand such behavior and fulfill the expectations of the teens in a way that their psychological as well as their mental needs are met. Parents must understand this behavior and control the feelings which turn into anger during the transitional phase. The mood swings too, need to stay intact and have the tendency to change from every minute.

The solutions:

The teens have a lot of thoughts that are accumulated in their mind. This in turn into stress and thus the teens are affected in the process. The teens find certain solace in looking at themselves in the mirror for long hours. The egos of the teens can be hurt very easily, thus special care must be taken while making the teens understand the seriousness of the situations that are caused. The teens must be encouraged to take up the hobbies that they like. The aggressiveness of the teens is a lot out of hand in certain situations. Hence, talkative sessions and the interactive ness of the teens with their families can bring about a lot of understanding and need. The arguments must be avoided in such cases. Parents should listen to the teens in the cases when they want to be heard out. Only this way can the problems be rectified. Interest must be shown by the parents as well as the teens.
