Teenagers Independence

The independence of the teenagers is a major issue as the time changes. Parents fear the independence of their teenagers as this can give them the liberty to do anything and in turn make them acquainted to the harmful and anti social elements of the society. This is why the children fail to relate to the parents as they misunderstand the restrictions as the hard and fats rules that are set by the parents who are the higher authority. The teens find it very difficult to talk to their parents once they find them in the shackles of restrictions. Here they find it easier to talk to their peer about the feelings and the problems that they face. The questioning about the independence and the constant debates get the children quite tied up with their feelings which push them even farther from the families.

The fear of the parents:

The teenage phase is the biggest fear in a parent’s life. This is mainly because the teen tends to adapt him to the society during this phase. Any restrictions from the family which are not understood by the teenagers can get them tied up within themselves. Discussing about their future and directing their future and career would be of advantage for the parents. The teen should be made realize that the parents are well wishers and the independence should not be full fledged as there are chances that the children tread away during the same. The teachers and the family is the best to make the child realize all this. The teen must have the freedom to go out with friends and spend time on his own or doing the things that he would like to do. But what is important is that this must be restricted to a certain area as this can prevent the child from falling prey to any kind of anti social elements. To spend time with the children and relate to them through the conversations can help the teen to understand the situation and also not discuss the independence issues further. The most important factor lies, that the teen should not feel that his independence is tied up.
